, ,Full-Cycle Senior Accountant
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Cycle Senior Accountant to join a small Dallas-based CPA firm that primarily serves small businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and be able to manage the complete accounting process for a variety of clients. This role is perfect for a proactive professional who enjoys working closely with small business clients to support their financial health and success and would like to add tax work to their professional toolkit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements for clients, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax projections and returns for clients, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and deadlines. Provide tax planning advice to optimize clients' tax positions. Prepare personal federal and multi-state income tax returns.
- Internal Controls: Advise clients on establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard their assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Financial Research: Conduct research on entity structure planning for various business types, support acquisitions and divestitures, respond to taxing authority inquiries and assessments, and gather, organize, and assemble data for the analysis of fact patterns related to tax transactions and computations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification not required.
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably at a small business or in a firm serving small business clients.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial clients.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
- High level of integrity and commitment to client confidentiality.
